This afternoon (21st), 29 Deputy Ministers of the National People's Power government were sworn in before me at the Presidential Secretariat.

The newly appointed Deputy Ministers are as follows:

  • Namal Karunarathne, MP - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock

  • Wasantha Piyathissa, MP - Deputy Minister of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment

  • Nalin Hewage, MP - Deputy Minister of Vocational Education

  • R.M. Jayawardena, MP - Deputy Minister of Trade, Commerce and Food Security

  • Gamagedara Dissanayake, MP - Deputy Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs

  • T.B. Sarath, MP - Deputy Minister of Housing

  • Rathna Gamage, MP - Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources
