Recently, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake was investigated for not giving the proposed monthly interim allowance of 3,000 rupees to the pensioners. Accordingly, the president had informed the treasury officials to give the related money to the pension department.

As a result, the Retirement Salary Department will release the monthly interim allowance of 3,000 rupees to all pensioners from today (16).
The bank accounts of the pensioners who receive their pension through public and private banks will be credited today, while the pensioners who receive their pension through post offices and educational institutions will be able to receive their pension the next day (18).
