Fire in a school, a building is completely destroyed

It is reported that a multi-purpose two-storied building has been completely destroyed in a sudden fire that broke out in Telijjawila Madhya Maha Vidyalaya, which belongs to Akurassa Education Zone of Matara District.

It is reported that the police say that they suspect that some group set fire to this building and that they are going to arrest the suspects.

In this building, there were many items including sports equipment, mattresses worth more than 10 lakh rupees, school desks and chairs, and electrical equipment, all of which were destroyed in the fire. It is reported that a dog that was staying in the school premises has also been caught in the fire and died.

It is said that 5 classrooms have been maintained in the building which was destroyed by fire and it is said that a difficult situation has arisen to hold those classes.
