"Fertilizer does not contain harmful bacteria, pay the fee immediately and accept the stock of fertilizer" China informs

The Sri Lanka Plant Quarantine Service (SLPPC) had discovered that the shipment of organic fertilizer imported from China contained harmful bacteria and the vessel carrying the fertilizer was parked near the Colombo harbor.

Qingdao Seawin Biotech Group of China has again sent the fertilizer samples to a third party for testing, challenging the test reports issued by the Plant Quarantine Service of Sri Lanka. Schutter Global Inspection and Survey acted as the third party by mutual consent.

Qingdao Seawin Biotech Group said that the stock of organic fertilizer has been tested and there are no harmful bacteria.

It is also stated that China has instructed to pay the fees for the fertilizer in the ship which is currently being held at the Colombo port and to accept the fertilizer immediately. Also, People's Bank, which opened the letters of credit, has been included in the black list by China.
