Decision on Commodity Duty on Imported Sugar

A special merchandise tax of 50 rupees was imposed for one kilogram of imported sugar from November 1st last year for a period of one year. That period was supposed to end on November 1st, but the government has extended the relevant tax till December 31st.

According to reports, the President has issued the gazette notification as the Finance Minister.
